Twitter team has been working on a bunch of features to make Twitter easier to use. They released something that many of you have been asking for – automatic link shortening on Twitter.com.
How does it work?
Just paste a link of any length into the Tweet box on Twitter.com. After you’ve composed your Tweet and you hit the “Tweet” button, they’ll shorten the link so that it only takes up 19 characters.
What’s in it for me?
Sharing links on Twitter.com is now simple and instant. Plus, since we show a shortened version of the original link, people will know which site the link points to. This service also increases security. If users click links that are reported as malicious, they direct them to a page that warns them.
What if I want analytics for my links?
You can continue to use your favorite third-party link shortening services.

How To: Disable Twitter Email Notifications
Twitter starts sending email notifications for Twitter reply or mentioned. For you who are Twitter active, you may not want Twitterto flood your mailbox.
Fortunately, you can opt out of receiving these notifications at any time. Here you will learn how to stop receiving Twitter emails.
- Go to your Twitter’s notifications settings
- Uncheck ALL check boxes to stop receive ANY email notifications from Twitter.
- Click “Save” button to save your settings. Done.
For me, I unchecked “I’m sent a direct message” and “I’m sent a reply or mentioned” to stop receiving email when I got direct messages, replies, and @mention in any tweet.

TweetAdder - Is It Still the Best Twitter Marketing Software Today?
TweetAdder has always been quite simply the best Twitter marketing software for getting targeted results fast, whether you are a veteran Twitter marketer looking at selling their affiliate products, or are a small, medium or even large sized business looking to stir some interest in your company. But there is increasing competition for some of the other popular marketing software, so is TweetAdder still the daddy?I've been in the realm of Twitter marketing for around 5 years now, basically since Twitter started and I've never encountered a better piece of software than TweetAdder. TweetAdder offers you the ability to find targeted users by their interests, location and even what they have been tweeting about in the hope that they will follow you and your tweets which should show them something they've been wanting to hear about. It also offers the ability to automatically send messages and tweets to users once they follow you or if a particular user mentions specific keywords. MarketMeSuite also offers the automatic tweeting which is very useful, but doesn't have the capabilities of TweetAdder when it comes to following on a large scale. It can do it, just not in the way that TweetAdder does. TweetAdder finds users for you based on your specification, adds them to a database and follows them in a lower frequency, to avoid Twitter becoming suspicious of what you are doing. Here's a tip; follow a maximum of 150 people per day. There's nothing wrong with following a lot of people at once, but in some cases Twitter themselves see this as abuse, so stick with around 150.
In the end, it's all about what you want and need. If you're a small business looking to interact with your followers and find a few more gradually, MarketMeSuite may be the way to go, however if you're looking at finding people on a much larger scale, then TweetAdder is definitely the way to go. There are no other major competitors out there these days and both pieces of software work on PC, Mac and Linux so have fun!
