Rs 60,000 for a fraking phone? No thanks…
The tiny prints:
- * Special launch offer - conditions apply
- Tariffs are VAT inclusive
- Contractual period – 24 months
- Normal tariff will be charged for all communication over and above package as well as any excess.
As expected if you go beyond your limit, you’ll pay the normal post-paid tariff. It’s more than enough if you are not a big gossiper. However, the total duration only applies to calls to Orange and MT fixed lines. & if you’re calling Emtel or MTML, you’ll need need to pay on top of that!
For the SMS, again it depends on how much SMS you send per month. Many people will find that 200-350 SMS are too low a number. Turn to email instead if you want to cut down on costs.
But the worst is the data usage. Why don’t Orange realise that the iPhone is a fricking Internet device!?!?! It has the best web browser anywhere, it has Google Maps, Twitter, IM & much more. Almost everything on the iPhone is centred around it having unlimited Internet connectivity.
Imagine how low 250/400MB is if you’ve got a 384kbps connection which can blow that limit in just a few hours of YouTubing… You won’t be able to use that WiFi everywhere can you? Don’t forget it’s Rs 1/MB for excess! That is an epic FAIL! Frak you Orange & Apple!
& as stated in the Terms & Conditions unlocking or jailbreaking your iPhone voids your warranty. I think many people will now find eBay much more attractive than ever…
Btw I’ve tried to watch that crap of the live webcast. Guess what I got?
Update:
Oh, btw have anyone of you wondered how the hell are you going to access iTunes Store? There is no Mauritius iTunes Store, is there? So basically your iPhone is useless since you can’t download apps, music & videos….Orange a lancé l'iPhone à Maurice
